Our story
Muspi Merol Studios is a graphic design services group founded in 2010 by designers Erin Genett and Cassandra Sell. These tech-savvy ladies met while studying in the graphic design program at Northeastern University. The founding of the first official Northeastern Art Society was their first introduction. In 2006 they began another tradition at Northeastern by participating in the department’s first class abroad at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughn, Ireland. While working there on their own studio projects, they were drawn together by a their colorful, fun, unique styles.
In 2007, Erin graduated from Northeastern with a dual major in Graphic Design and Multimedia Studies. She followed it up with a Masters degree in Technological Entrepreneurship in 2008. She has made her home in Boston and has been full time staff since graduation at Berklee School of Music as the Information Architect for the Berklee PULSE Music Method. In the fall of 2009, Erin taught the Hypermedia course in Northeastern’s Multimedia Studies program and learned quite a bit herself. She hails from Rochester, New York and has a rescued kitten named Lily.
Cassandra graduated from Northeastern with a Degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Photography in 2009. After graduation she worked as a Graphic Designer alongside Erin at Berklee PULSE, while also working as an Assistant Production Designer for WGBH’s interactive department. She and her husband have settled in Boston and she began working full time at WGBH in 2010. Cassandra dares to claim being from both Southern California and Northern New Jersey and has a poly-dactyl kitten named George.
The two decided to found Muspi Merol Studios in order to collaborate on freelance design projects. These projects that started as favors to friends and family (as many projects do) became a conscious effort to learn and grow in the design community while granting the opportunity to take charge of their own creative careers. They provide design services, such as visual branding, web design, photography or illustration, as well as consultation services such as social media training and self promotion.
Realizing that with their combined creativity, efficiency, and drive they could provide an affordable solution to small businesses, artists, and entrepreneurs looking to take charge of their own creative careers. This became the mission of Muspi Merol Studios.
